Founded in 1935, Lancôme started with the launch of five perfumes at the Brussels International Exposition and won an award. This is what continued to be an inspiration at Lancôme.
In 1936 Lancôme bought out a new product Nutrix, which was a skincare cream meant for repairing the skin. This product became a must-have cream for women, and has been for nearly 80 years.
The 1950s were important years. In 1951, the brand’s first lipsticks were launched – the ‘jewellery for lips’ - which allowed women to express themselves. The first lipsticks of the Orfevreries line were Clé de Croquette, Longue Vue and Menestrel. Then in 1955 Lancôme’s Océane Skincare was born – this line is created from a concentrate of aquatic-life, notorious for its purity continues to be placed amongst their innovations today.
From 1965 their very first premium Lancome Cream, Crème Absolue was launched and became the ultimate skincare formula which fulfilled every woman’s dreams. Soon after Lancôme’s first-edition mascara became a product which set standards - and this let the way for many of their future collections.
After many product launches, in 1992 Lancôme’s Rénergie was brought out after using innovative research to bring women back to their youth. 2004 Was the year of a new mascara, the Hypnôse Mascara, a product which was able to show their true beauty.
In 2011, Lancôme’s new line Visionnaire became available, comprising advanced multi-correcting creams to help restore youthfulness and diminish wrinkles.
In 2012, Lancôme released a luxurious skincare – Absolute L’Extrait – from the science of a rose, giving the power of absolute regeneration day and night. With Lancôme “la vie est belle”.
