Why did we launch this product?

Our Salicylic Acid-rich Concentrate is a fast-action, fast-absorbing leave-on chemical exfoliation to gently remove dead skin cells, reduce blemishes, target enlarged pores, and improve hydration to reveal a softer, more youthful-looking and brighter skin, as a result, without causing redness or inflammation.

What is a BHA?

BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) is an oil-loving acid which will naturally ‘stimulate’ the skin, forcing it to act! It is best for acne-prone skin and those with deeper skin conditions since BHA penetrates further into the skin. They can bypass the oil that clogs pores and dissolve the mix of sebum and dead skin that leads to acne as well as stabilise the lining of the pore (which contributes to acne). BHAs clear up blackheads, whiteheads (milia) and have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. This umbrella term includes the popular anti-acne ingredient of Salicylic Acid. BHAs also exfoliate the top layer but are best used for their deep penetrative qualities.

How do BHAs work?

A leave-on BHA exfoliant works on the upper layers of the skin, encouraging dead skin cells to shed to reveal the healthier and more radiant layers underneath. It’s also able to penetrate the skin’s natural oil allowing it to exfoliate and ‘unclog’ pores (break down the ‘glue’ that holds skin cells together and hence ‘blocks’ pores) and help reduce them in size. Like AHAs, BHAs have hydrating properties, they help minimise the visible appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, help improve firmness, skin tone and texture, BHAs are particularly relevant for a more blemish and oil-prone skin, a congested and acne-prone skin and will even help to address whiteheads, known as milia and keratosis pilaris.

Other key ingredients:

Willow Bark Contains salicylic acid, a BHA that is a natural exfoliant used in many acne treatments because of its ability to help skin shed dead cells and clear pores.

Tiger Grass (Centella Asiatica) is a medicinal plant known for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Beautifully green and rich in chlorophyll, it will enhance the look and feel of the skin by making it stronger and more supple. Rich in key nutrients including zinc, copper, amino acids, beta-carotene and selenium.

Hyaluronic Acid is the key component within our skin. It can be likened to ‘a tall glass of water for the face’ as this super hydrator is best known for its unique ability to hold up to a thousand times its weight in water, making it the ultimate complexion champion being responsible for hydration, smoothness, suppleness and glow. As we age, the natural production of hyaluronic acid within our skin starts to decrease, causing dehydration, dullness and fine lines among other concerns. We use low weight, medium-to-high and cross-linked in our formulations.

Caffeine, although a stimulant, has soothing and anti-oxidant properties so helps protect skin exposed to UV light. It can penetrate the skin and has a constricting effect, which helps to calm skin prone to redness and sensitivity.

Squalane is plant derived, and an exceptional moisturiser which naturally occurs within our skin’s own lipid barrier, and acts as a barrier to keep moisture locked in so skin is soft, supple and plump for longer. This natural antioxidant emollient works well for all skin types, especially mature and is non-comedogenic and may help regulate excess oil production in acne-prone skin. It fights against UV damage and skin pigmentation and is highly efficient in brightening dull skin as well as reducing fine lines, scars and wrinkles for a more radiant and youthful complexion.

Linden is a comforting and grounding essential oil and helps to aid deep-seated stress and anxiety 

May Chang has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Due to its anti-inflammatory and astringent properties it is used in skincare as it is effective in targeting excess oil and enlarged pores.

Mandarin is known for its soothing, detoxing, anti-inflammatory and calming properties

How to use?

Apply several pumps to a beauty pad to a clean skin, gently wipe over a dry face, avoiding the delicate eye area. No rinsing required. Allow it to dry before applying your next step in your routine. Use AM and PM Use within 6 months once opened.
