Retinol has a lot of benefits. Often praised for its anti-ageing qualities, retinol can also help control acne and breakouts, even skin tone, increase cell turnover to exfoliate the skin and improve skin texture.
Most topically applied products work at the surface of the epidermis, but retinol goes a step further and works its magic at a deeper cellular level, helping neutralise free radicals and boosting the production of collagen in the middle layer of your skin. This leaves you with a brighter, clearer and smoother complexion.
Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A, and should be gradually phased into your skin care routine to allow your skin to get used to it.
How To Use Retinol In Your Skincare Routine
Cleanse & Tone: Cleanse and tone your skin every morning & evening.
Boost & Prep: Apply First Serums. The Superstart Booster Serum from Elizabeth Arden is great to use morning & evening, with 1-2 pumps across face, neck and décolleté. This serum will kickstart your routine and boost the barrier strength of your skin as well as boosting the benefits of the rest of your skincare regime.
Eyes: Apply your Eye Cream. The Ceramide Retinol Eye Cream from Elizabeth Arden is best to apply in the evening around the eye region, with a gentle tapping motion using your ring finger. Eye cream can be applied before or after face serum, it’s entirely up to you!
Retinol: For your retinol application, The Ceramide Retinol Line Erasing Serum Capsules from Elizabeth Arden fit seamlessly into your skincare routine. Apply at night only by using 1 capsule. Twist & squeeze the capsule to release the serum and apply onto skin. There is enough serum packed inside one capsule for your face, neck and décolleté.
Moisturise: Lastly, it’s time to moisturise your skin and lock in all your skincare. Apply a moisturiser that is best suited to your skin type. For use with the Ceramide Retinol Line Erasing Serum Capsules, we’d recommend using the Retinol + HPR Rapid Skin Renewing Water Cream. 1-2 pumps morning and / or evening. This light as air cream can be used in conjunction with your retinol serum capsules for maximum benefit.
Protect: During the day, always apply a broad-spectrum SPF to protect against sun damage. Re-apply SPF if you’re going to be in the sun for a longer period.
