A good heat-proofing regime starts in the shower. For keeping our locks safe in the sun, we swear by Kérastase’s Soleil collection. Kérastase Soleil Bain Apres-Soleil contains a Photo-Defense Filter that gives constant protection against both UVA and UVB rays, while the Masque UV Defense Active helps to repair surface damage caused by exposure to the sun. Oh, and it’s also boosted with hydrophobic properties which work to repel water and humidity which advance UV damage to tresses.
Another post-sun favourite of ours is the L’Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Solar Sublime Sun Masque. Ensuring locks are silky, soft and shiny, the masque counteracts the drying effects of sun, salt and chlorine.

Let’s be honest, no one enjoys drying their hair when it’s hot outside. To speed up the process and protect locks from the heat, we love Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Primer Cream. Sure, it doesn’t neccesarily protect your locks from sun damage, but it does protect against the effects heat styling without weighing your mane down, and reduces blow-drying time too.
