Extra virgin Olive oil is at the heart of the PURE GREEK OLIVE collection. The extra virgin Olive oil comes from the predominant Greek Olive variety, [Koroneiki]; long regarded as the best variety of Olive oil. These slow-growing organic olive trees are watered naturally and kept small in size. Meaning they are better nourished by the sun, offering a tiny, precious quantity of ‘green gold’, usually a tenth of what standard olive trees produce.
The History:
This precious globally supreme Olive oil is the very same oil ancient women of Crete used for their hair, face and body. Athletes also used to use it to cleanse and prepare their bodies for the ancient Greek games.
How Olive Oil is Harvested:
The organically farmed tree leaves are hand-picked every winter. Next, they are dried naturally before being extracted at the Korres extraction facility. This is the outcome of a KORRES cooperation with Crete’s oldest farming association, the Cooperative of Organic Farmers of Messara.
