We're all about hair and beauty, but we're big fashion fans too. So when we were invited to go BTS at London Fashion Week with L’Oréal Professionnel, we just couldn't say no...

Last week we went backstage at the Roberta Einer SS19 show with L’Oréal Professionnel. The talented Adam ReedL’Oréal Professionnel UK Editorial Ambassador, created an effortlessly cool 90s look for the show and we grabbed him (between rehearsals) for his top tips on getting the look.

The Muse

Playful, fun and feminine, she’s understated and beautiful with a 90s vibe.

The Look

The ‘Calm Down’ textured knot that’s worn-in and modern with an ethereal feel. This is anti-statement hair. Overdone-ness is overdone. It’s time for everbody to calm down. We’re doing everything with hands to maximise textures. Beach waves with our fingers, product worked through the hair and hair pulled into a bun. Base knot is going to be a trend. It’s the hair everybody wants, but finds quite difficult to get.

How To

  • Brush L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Wild Stylers Beach Waves through the hair using fingers to sweep it back
  • Wet fingers with L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Wild Stylers 60s Babe Savage Panache and layer on for a worn-in, dry texture
  • Using fingers, pull the hair back into a mid-head ponytail, securing tightly with 3mm elastic
  • Double layer on more L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Wild Stylers Beach Waves to give the hair structure and control, particularly if hair is thicker
  • Use a hair net and diffuser to dry the product in gently
  • Twist the ponytail length into a soft knot, securing with two to three pins positioned behind the elastic
  • Take the hair net and fix as a headscarf to set and hold the windswept front section
  • Remove the net and loosen up baby hairs at the hairline and nape for a soft, undone feel using L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Pli and a boar bristle brush for detailing

The Top Tip

Less is more. Let your hands do all the work to avoid an ‘overdone’ look. Work the products through with fingers to maximise the texture of the hair, and use the warmth of your hands to dry in product.
