There’s some exciting new launches to the Decléor Green Mandarin Range – two new exfoliating products to get your skin glowing.

The new Green Mandarin products are to add an exfoliating routine into your skincare renowned for giving a glowing complexion. Decléor have designed both a chemical and mechanical scrub to suit your skin’s needs…

‘Did you know by exfoliating the skin weekly, this will boost the effectiveness of your other skincare’ – Laura Miles, Decléor Skin Expert.

What’s the difference?

Mechanical exfoliation:

A technique that has been used since the Ancient Egyptians, this is still a super popular technique of exfoliation and you will most probably have used this in a scrub formula.

Using a textured exfoliating particles, the scrub will buff away dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Revealing a brighter and smoother complexion. As the scrub is massaged onto the skin in circular motions, you will also increase blood circulation that will leave skin feeling reenergised.

When is best to use a mechanical scrub?

Decleor skin experts recommend exfoliating 1-2 times a week and also suggest combining this with a weekly face mask to ensure skin is feeling fully pampered! The Green Mandarin Scrub mask is perfect for this – including 5 different sized natural exfoliating particles. Argan Shell, Sugar Cane, Sugar Beet, Lemon and Orange Peel buff away dead skin and revive the complexion. The 2-in-1 scrub and mask can be left on as a mask – infusing skin with Green Mandarin, Sweet Orange and Grapefruit essential oils.

Chemical Exfoliation:

Chemical peels are powerful exfoliants and were typically only used by Doctors and Dermatologists. However, nowadays there are peels out there that can used safely at home due to lower concentration in the products themselves. Instead of physical particles working at the skins dead cells, an enzymatic action is used to ‘nibble’ away at them instead. Peels work further into the skin and help to dissolve the cells bonds that are preventing dead skin cells from being removed. Chemical peels with exfoliate the skin, as well as improving texture and clarity – however it’s important to note that some skin types can find peels a little too aggressive.

How should I use a chemical peel?

The Green Mandarin Bi-Phase Overnight Peel is a 28 day cure. Glycolic acid and fruit acids give a long resurfacing action on the skin. Glycolic acids encourage good cellular renewal and with regular use can help with hyperpigmentation and wrinkles. Essential oils of Green Mandarin, Sweet Orange and Grapefruit are known for their anti-oxidant concentration. Whilst botanical oils of Apricot and Marula in the peel nourish and soothe the skin, leaving a softer, smoother and more revitalized complexion.

But don’t forget!

Always wear an SPF during the day after you have applied a peel the night before.
