Daisy Churchward

With wedding season just starting up, #TeamGorgeous headed to Gorgeous Hairdressing to get the low down on two key wedding looks for the summer. Daisy, went for an effortlessly, undone (and very low maintenance) look. Simple waves, loose braids that were accessorized with Gypsophila. Think boho bride!

How To: The Effortlessly Undone Air-Dry Bridal Look

Step 1 – Prep

To start, we washed the hair with Redken All Soft Shampoo, followed by All Soft Conditioner. The ultra-rich formula made sure that hair was rehydrated and feeling soft, smooth and shiny.

Step 2 – Drying

Secondly, we applied Redken No Blow Dry Just Right Cream to wet hair and let air dry. There’s 3 different Redken No Blow Dry Creams, all for different hair types. We chose Just Right which is for medium hair, however if you’ve got finer hair choose Airy Cream and for coarse hair choose Bossy Cream!

No Blow Dry is perfect for when you don’t have time for a blow dry, hair is left frizz free with a smooth finish.

Step 3 – Texture

Midway through air-drying we spritzed Fashion Waves through the hair. This Redken styling product helps to add texture through its sea salt formula.

Step 4 – Making Waves

When hair was completely dry, we started to section out the hair to start the waving process. Daisy’s favorite tool to use is the T3 Whirl Trio, “I absolutely love this curling tong, my most used attachment is the Tapered Wand as it creates the perfect tousled waves that I love. It’s super easy to use, lightweight and makes the styling process so quick.” Alice, Stylist at Gorgeous Hairdressing used the ghd Curve Classic Curl Tong to create Daisy’s ‘undone look’.

Step 5 – Braiding

After all hair was curled, we loosened the curls by running our hands through roots to tip. To create the final look we braided two sections of hair. From the front of the head we worked backwards on each side to pull two braids together at the back of the head, finishing by pinning it all in place.

Step 6 – Hold

To make sure the hair stayed in place we sprayed Redken Triple Take Hairspray, which helped to give extra hold without making hair ‘crispy’.

Step 7 – Finishing Touches

After buying Gypsophila from the local florist, we took little segments and threaded the stem through the braids. The delicate flowers created a unique finishing touch to the bridal look.
