Thick amazing masque
Bye-bye dry hair. Love it.
Amazing, I use after i have highlights done and keeps my hair in good condition.
Very good product. its thick consistency makes my hair soft and shine. And its a good price for the size. I can't buy something else. Worth it.
Fantastic on fine hair
Wow, works beautifully on my fine long blonde straight hair!
Leaves my hair waxy, frizzy and matted.
I've come to the very reluctant conclusion that the current formulations of L'Oréal conditioning products simply don't work for my hair; which is unfortunate, as they are the products my (otherwise, very good) hairdresser uses.
I think I have worked out why, too.
I think it's the wax?
It comes fairly high on the ingredients list, of both this and the L'Oreal Mythic Oil Masque.
I have very thick, kind of mixed texture (but mainly fine), very long, wavy/curly, highlighted, slightly frizz-prone hair, which is dry due to the highlighting, but naturally fairly normal.
It is, obviously, also slightly damaged by the highlighting, but not excessively so; as I almost never heat-style it, just leave it to dry naturally.
The only time it is heat-styled is at the hairdressers, once every two months, when I get my highlights and cut done.
I also live in a very hard water area, which I find seriously drying on the hair and skin.
For reference, the best conditioner I have ever used was the old formulation of Aveda Dry Remedy; but, sadly, they changed it and doubled the price.
What I find, with this masque, is that it doesn't really moisturise my hair, at all.
In fact, it almost seems to remove, or block, moisture from entering during the wash, if that is possible?!
On the plus side, it goes on very well and the hair looks OKish, for the first few hours and has some shine.
It seems to add some volume, as well, which I don't want or need and it adds no weight at all (which I do need, frankly!), but it's bearable, I guess.
However, it kind of looks courser and coated, along with that shine, which isn't ideal and then, very quickly, I find my hair gets very dry, dull and frizzes up really badly, to the point of matting.
It's like it hasn't been conditioned, or moisturised, at all - just coated in a shiny wax and as soon as any humidity hits it, it removes that wax and frizzes the hair up.
It's really not good and in fact, my hair has looked and felt better (or less bad) when I haven't conditioned it, at all!
Certainly, I have had far, far better results from random highstreet hair conditioners, for dry hair, in the past.
Again, I stress this is just my experience, on my hair and I have read a lot of other, good, reviews of this product.
I can imagine it might be quite good on very fine, thin, greasy, flat hair, for example.
As it would add no weight, but would add some volume.
Although, that is, obviously, not supposed to be what it is for...
But, on my hair, it's just a disaster.
Great service from gorgeousshop, though, who have offered me a refund on the unopened tubs.
